Citizen have announced the i:VIRT, an eighties style digital watch which harnesses the powers of Bluetooth. Due to this facility the watch is able to connect to your mobile phone and offer a number of interactions. When you receive a phone call the watch will vibrate and light up revealing you as one of the world's biggest geeks. The LCD of the watch will be able to display caller ID and the phone number after you've imported the phonebook from your mobile onto the watch.
The i:VIRT represents to us a rather pointless innovation; it looks a bit jank and frankly a good old 'ring ring' will suffice to alert us when our phones ring. I suppose the question is what would you prefer on your wrist; this plastic monstrosity or a nice Omega chronograph?
